This is my fifty-ninth submission for my attempt at looneytunerian's Pokeshipping Theme Challenge.
80. Cosplay Time! Disney's Robin Hood
I always feel a little proud when I can post more than one theme in the same day. :) It's not usually in the same week because I'm the kind of person who wants to get something over and done with when I start it. Unless it's a really large, no deadline kind of project that takes me literal years to work on and finish (*winkwinknudgenudge*). So, while I doubt 2015 will be the year that I reach completion for this theme challenge, it shall not be a barren year of no Pokeshipping art! For as you can see, it's still the first quarter of the month and I already have 2 different themes completed! Whoo~! :D
I also love it when the final product is the same as the original idea. More specifically, I love it when I come up with ideas that I barely have to change during the whole process because it's not dysfunctional and illogical in some parts. Because I have those days. And I hate them. Ooooohhhhhhh BOY, do I hate those days! This theme, however, was not thought nor made on one of those days. I first came up with the idea of drawing Ash and Misty dancing like in the Disney movie, doodled it down, sketched it out later, scanned it, drew the lineart, colored and finalized it some time later. It was awesome. It was wonderful. It was great that I got to draw them both happily flustered in what looks like a convincing and realistically legit cosplay. An actual face mask to mimic the characters' muzzles, body paint for the arms and faces (that should explain the streaks), tights for Misty to wear, bald(?) caps to cover their hair, sewn-on fake tails to their clothes, and fake ears on top. To quote a different talking animal from a children's movie: "I'm so clever I amaze myself~!"

(Anyone who can guess where that comes from gets an e-cookie. ;P)
And y'know, as much as I love to make Ash and/or Misty a bit flustered for this theme challenge, I do live for the moments where I can make them actually enjoy themselves in each other's company. Instead of, y'know, red-faced and too scared of rejection to actually immerse themselves fully into the scenario they're in. Now granted, I can bet you $100 that their cheeks are probably pink underneath the face paint (since, y'know, I drew the darn thing) but they are genuinely enjoying themselves in this dance. Though, an unprofessional waltz is probably way more awkward for them than they anticipated. So, I'd say that's why they're laughing. XD
Oh yeah, and did you know it was quite a bit of trouble to find good full reference of Maid Marian's outfit? Seriously, it's like Disney didn't want to animate full body scenes for the movie... or people didn't want to upload screenshots of those scenes to the Internet. Gah! D:
