077. It's Showtime!

This is the ninetieth submission for my attempt at looneytunerian's Pokeshipping Theme Challenge.

77. It's Showtime!
Hello, everyone. Long time no see!

... So, anyone still around and paying attention to this blog? No? Well, you wouldn't be the first (that spot's specifically reserved for me). ^_^;; Anyway, how's everyone been? Hope no one's too disappointed in me and my lack of activity here. I'd go into detail but I know there are probably a lot of people who don't want to read all that. So, short version is: my old tablet died, had to get a new one, found out that it wasn't compatible with my old art program, then my laptop wouldn't allow me to install any other art programs, so I had to eventually buy a new one and then get accustomed to a new art program. Oh yeah, and for the last couple of months, there's been major health issues with a family member that took up a lot of time. All while having to go to my real life job. It hasn't been great. That's why I went MIA here for almost 6 months.

But now I'm back! And I'm close to the finish line of this theme challenge! Will 2018 be the year I finally complete this thing? Let's friggin' hope so because I only have 10 more themes to go and it shouldn't take me basically a whole year to get them done!

And now, to start off the new year with a theme that kinda fits given the bombast of it! I kinda lifted Ash's outfit from the suit he wore in this one screenshot from Go West, Young Meowth. And I just had to get in Misty's Goldeen one-piece from March of the Exeggutor Squad. XD Seriously, I had to, especially since I drew it once before and it came out so poor and ugly all those years ago. (You can find it on my dA if you go looking for it.) I believe Pikachu's outfit comes from the same episode as Ash's, but I remember it being re-used for the ending show segment Pikachu's Jukebox where they played samples of all the English dub songs they made for the show. (Not that they played them during actual episodes, from what I can recall.)

I don't remember exactly why I chose 'magic show' for this theme, I just thought it'd be appropriate because the phrase, "It's showtime!" kinda reminds me of magic shows. Not to mention that I just wanted to draw it regardless. I had a lot of fun drawing the different bird pokemon for this as well as the buneary. ^_^ (In case you're wondering if that's Dawn's Buneary, you make the call. I didn't consider it throughout the process, so there's no point in me making that decision at the end just for decision's sake.) The part I liked the least about this, though, was all the gosh darn confetti! D: It took so long in the lineart phase that I had to take so many breaks just to not lose my sanity! It made me wonder and honor those who draw way more detailed art pieces than this. How do they do it? How do they have the patience? And kudos for having said patience! Geez! ^_^;; I know I don't want to do something like that again.

To finish off this theme (as I don't have much else to say at this point), I'd like to point out that all the flags you see in this art are from countries that have/currently air Pokemon to their public. I didn't realize that some countries have really simple designs for their flags and I really like that. You don't need something ornate and overly decorated just to represent your nation. Just something simple yet distinctive. :)

(But no one mention the shoddy work on the curtains and floor for the BG. We all already know that I suck at BGs and should seek professional tutoring... as well as therapy for my laziness.)
