This is the seventy-fourth submission for my attempt at looneytunerian's Pokeshipping Theme Challenge.
91. As Jail Wardens
And so I'm back (from outer space)! Hello, hello, folks! :D You're friendly resident kitsune is back on this blog, posting some more Pokeshipping artwork and having a great time with it as well (at least that's what I tell myself anyway). XD
So, you may be wondering, why are these two playing cards when they're supposed to be keeping their eyes over the inmates? Why the screentone method for this theme? Why is the shading so selective (if at all visible)? And what in the world is going on with that background? The answer, dear readers, is: they're on break; I felt like it; again, I felt like it; and I was kinda lazy while also wanting to set the mood of their current card game. Another answer for the first question is because I love me some Ghost Trick and a couple of the BG characters that were really fun to watch were the double act jail wardens in that game. XD I wanted to kind of mimic their goofy back-and-forth with each other, so I went with Ash and Misty doing something innocuous (as well as maybe penalizing? Would playing cards while on shift get you fired?).
By the way, I actually had to redraw this theme. My first drawing wasn't as dynamic in the posing (Ash was sitting much more upright) and the costumes were a little more shakily drawn because of how uncertain I was of the details. They're supposed to be the police uniforms you see in the TV series that Officer Jenny and her coworkers wear, but there wasn't much in the way of reference pics (aside from a tiny, blurry screenshot). So, yeah, with this second attempt, I just went with the flow and kept the details simple. Something that I didn't really improve from the first drawing is my inking, definitely. Ugh, I just keep seeing all those mistakes in the lineart. ^_^;;
Anyway, I don't have much else to say in the way of this theme, so let's head onto the next one!
