This is the twenty-eighth submission for my attempt at looneytunerian's Pokeshipping 100 Theme Challenge.
32. What If: Ash Discovered Misty has a Song About Him?
"... Misty? Why is she awake? And lookin' all confused?"
Just to clear up that quote, Ash is just thinking it. He's not actually saying it aloud since it's supposed to be the dead of night and everyone but him and Misty are asleep. (Also, the coloring style of this theme is supposed to match this theme.)
Now, as for what I think would be the answer to this what if, he probably wouldn't know who she was talking about in the song since he's supposed to be oblivious to a lot of things, especially with things pertaining to romance and the like. Not to mention the fact that his name is never said in the song, so he very well could assume that she's talking about one the many small characters who've shown up over the years trying to win her affections. Including Danny, who had no interest in her whatsoever.
So... yeah, my idea is that he wouldn't know who was singing about unless Misty decided to tell him, or start singing "He Drives Me Crazy." Since, y'know, it has his full name in the lyrics, has a better singer in it (by my standards, anyway, I just don't like Yvette Laboy's soprano), and overall lyrics are more relatable to Misty on the show. But it's really just my personal preference. ^_^
